The aim of the school council is to promote citizenship and to give the children a voice within the school.
Each class elects two children to represent them on the school council. If a child wishes to be considered for election they must be nominated by two others class members and deliver a small speech to the class, outlining their plans and actions as a member of school council.
The school council meets regularly with Mrs Bednall to discuss school issues, raised by both children and staff. After meetings, school council members report back to their classes through class council meetings.
Last year's projects for the School Council included 'Fun Friday's', these proved very successful raising over £600 for playground equipment and nearly £300 for 'The Little Princess Children's Cancer Trust.'
Our School Council has a 'School Cabinet' with a Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers for different departments. The Health and Safety ministers will take part in health and safety walks around the school. The Sports ministers will work alongside Mrs Clarke to develop sports within our school. The Education ministers will be involved in the development of our Creative Curriculum, they will feedback pupils' views about the new curriculum to Mrs Seaton and inform future planning.
